Mothers ~ Celebrate and Love Them Well. ~ The Grace Between

Mothers ~ Celebrate and Love Them Well.

Happy Mother’s Day.

I wish I could talk about motherhood as well she did. But I can’t so go read what she wrote. Let me just say I will echo her words …

Motherhood isn’t sainthood and we’re all a bunch of sinners here and don’t let anyone tell you any different“ … Really, go read it. It’s for all women.

I do want to tell you this …

This day, it was uncomplicated in the beginning. I was so excited. It was about me. It was rejoicing in new mommyhood, the swelling of my heart to make room for the J Girl ~ even as as I ached over our babe in heaven.

I was enthralled.

But life happens. Hard things happen. Our world {should} expand as our experience increases. Our knowledge and compassion for the stories of others grows richer even as our own story flows from the pen of the Author.

So tomorrow I will celebrate these mothers too. I will love them the best way I know how.

Mothers with babes not fully knitted, sent heavenward.

Mother hearts with empty hands.

Mothers who sacrificed their babes to love of liberty, of country. Of freedom.

Solo mothers … geographically, emotionally, physically.

Mothers who loved, searched across continents to bear the babes of their heart. {Or are still searching, and waiting … }.

Fighter mommas, giving silent babes a voice.

We all know these mothers. Many of us are these women. Brave, often silent, often alone. I’ve walked in more than one pair of these shoes. Been these women on more than one Mother’s Day.

So I’m thoughtful, thankful, mindful, of what I’ve been given, desperate to use it for His glory.

Beloved, if you know one of these beautiful women, reach out. Love her well, celebrate the uniqueness of her story. Ask her what she needs.

Not just on Sunday. Any day. Every day.

And I will celebrate especially tomorrow the power of Hannah’s prayer {1 Samuel 1:26-28}. Remember my friend? The snapshot of “I”? She’s due this fall …

Surely God is good.

~M.

My thankfuls this day …
